Mental Ilness : Self Harming : THE PILOT

This photograph is someone harming themselves. At the beginning with some of my images and wanted to be sensitive to individuals who had suffered from self harming, but I thought giving them justice isn't 'faking' self harming which I feel I was doing in the images before.

This image shows the girl taking the razor blade to her wrists and harming herself and even though its not real blood ( only fake ) its still giving you this realistic photograph of what it would look like when individuals do this to themselves. What made me look more into this is Larry Clark even though in his photographs you don't see blood his photos are still gritty and sinister and realistic to self harming and looking at my image I feel that the photograph is realistic of what happens when someone harms themselves and the blood flows out just like in my photograph.

I do feel that I need to make the photograph more realistic may be not have the razor blade in it as may be leaving it  out causing more questions of how they have done it what kind of instrument they have used to have this effect on themselves.
