Not only was I looking at plastic surgery as a reason to Self Harm but also the illness which is Anorexia. A lot of individuals male and female suffer from this disorder and are so upset with themselves it leads to Self Harming as they are worried to talk to someone and gain help with it.
While researching into this subject of Self Harming I learnt that my other house mate suffered from anorexia when she was a teenager and it was due to her being called fat by a boyfriend which she had at the time, she didn't Self Harm herself but she was very ill from this illness and was depressed in may ways because of the lack of confidence which she had due to getting the disorder. She has told me that she does struggle in everyday but what keeps her going is the support of her family and her friends but she wanted to tell me about what she went through as she thought it would help with my project and create a new idea of why people may Self Harm.
