Everyday Life

Every day life is such a different experience for everyone. I find everyday life a very interesting topic to focus on because so much happens with every bodies lives. One particular photographer of every day life which really caught my eye was a man who goes by the name Jamie Livingston, he took photos of himself for 18 years with the last image being him dying on cancer. I find his images very touching and moving by the fact that he has documented every single aspect of his life through the good times such as him and his friend having fun on the beach to then him dying on cancer, it's showing the public that every body has things to deal with.

Not only does this move me but it also creates this sense of achievement due to the fact he has taken the time out to dedicate and document 18 years of his life. He is not afraid to show the personal things of his life and the emotion that it will bring to every body. Even though you don't know him as a person you feel like you do due to all these images being showcased to you especially the one of him dying because that is such a private a personal moment for him, his friends and family yet he has decided to show the world.

The two images which really hit home for me is the very first photo which Jamie took of himself, then took a photo of him 18 years later when he knows about the cancer it must  of been very upsetting and emotional for him to keep documenting. What was great was that he quoted about the images ' They often don't mean anything by themselves, but when you put them together, they take on a life of their own', which I feel is very powerful and true. After a couple of years the images you have taken would have created some great memories and they will stay with you forever.
